Two factions of All Progressives Congress in Cross River State led by Mr Matthew Achigbe and Mr Godwin John Etim, all claiming to be endorsed by the National Working Committee, have decided to adopt direct primaries to select their candidates for the 2019 general elections in the State.
Both spoke differently in Calabar at the end of their stakeholders meetings held at their different ‘state Secretariat’ situated on the same Marian Road.
They called on their officials loyal to their different leaderships to go all out to on membership drive ahead of the 2019 and to ensure that they are registered foe the Permanent Voter’s Card.
The faction led by Godwin Etim John said they agreed to pursue with vigor the ongoing party registration. They had therefore mandated the chapter Chairmen to leave no stone unturned in the exercise.
Both factions have aspirants for various elective positions in the state including governorship position.
“The APC Cross River State noted that as a law abiding party, that believes in the supremacy of the rule of law and our courts resolved not to be part of any scheme to undermine the order made by a court of competent jurisdiction in the country”
