Ritualists are those suspected to have kidnapped two nursery school toddlers  who were recently declared missing in Calabar, Nigeria

A child activist lawyer, Mr James Ibor of Child Network Protection said the children included Masters Isaiah Ugi Ugbong and Elisha Gideon Ukam who were each five years old, adding that  they were i nursery one at  Ikot Efanga Mkpa nursery and primary school.

Ibor who is working with parents of the two babies said the parents had confirmed that their children did not return from school since 31st May 2018 and had therefore reported at  the Ikot Efanga Mkpa police station.

According to Ibor, the police immediately had to arrest the head teacher and  teachers of the two toddlers who could not give proper account of their whereabouts.

He had earlier posted in his Facebook page that he suspected  that the children were not only missing but could have been kidnapped for ritual purposes, especially as election period was setting in.

Comrade Eyo Nsa who is the chairman of  Nigerian Union of Teachers (NUT) in the state ,  confirmed the kidnap, saying he and his officials had to visit the Effanga Mkpa police station in Calabar where some of the teachers whom police took as first suspects were detained to take them on bail.

He said the school authorities claimed that the two children who were playmates and were always together sauntered away after break hours and never returned!

“I confirm the incident. My officials and myself had to visit the police station to bail the teachers who were detained as a result. While they are at their investigation, we have given the police money to advertise about the missing children. I am hoping that the poor children are still alive”, NSA said.
