Arising from incessant fire outbreaks in parts of the country which have resulted in the loss of businesses and destruction of valuable properties and goods, management of Safety Minds Ltd organised a one day fire fighting skill to some Nigerians and staff of Calabar based firms.

The event was held at the Brotherhood auditorium where lectures and displays of different fire fighting skills were displayed by the anchor persons.

Speaking at the event yesterday, consultant to the fire fighting firm, Mr Ifiokabasi Udo said they were promoted to embark on the training exercise in Calabar so as to begin the sensitisation amongst youths and interested firms, adding that they were billed to conduct similar training in many states of Nigeria.

Udo said the training in Calabar was very successful as many of the participants had shown deep interest in the Free Fire Prevention and Basic Fire Fighting Training.

He enumerated that “63 persons participated while 31 actually wrote the follow up examinations and took part in the practical session.  They had received Completion ID Cards and Certificate of Completion while others received Certificate of Participation. Awards were presented to the participant that scored 100% in the exam and the participant that was first to arrive the training venue.

” It was indeed a delightful day as in addition to the knowledge gained, every participant had something to go home with. Safety Minds Limited bulletin, stickers and others were shared. The Audio Room of the auditorium received a DCP Fire Extinguisher.”

Some participants came from media outfits in the state, including StarCross cable TV and Sparkling FM radio. Staff of organisations like Browland Hotel, Bromco Primary and Secondary Schools,  BCS Royal Museum, First Royal Micro Finance Bank, Royal International Farms Ltd, among others.
