Contrary to earlier reports, quoting him as describing them as clowns, whom he would not dignify with his presence, former Governor of Ekiti State Governor Ekiti State, Ayo Fayose, was at the state House of Assembly, hours after he was invited to answer allegations of diversion of local government funds while he was in office.
Apart from several pictures, Fayose, announced the development on his verified Twitter page, saying he had nothing to hide or fear from his service in the state as the number one citizen and therefore, his conscience was clear.
He wrote in the tweet: “I just left the Ekiti House of Assembly where I met with the Speaker and some Principal Officers. I’m a clear conscience (sic), I fear no accusation.”
Lere Olayinka, who was equally invited by the House for allegedly siphoning funds from the state broadcasting service, on Thursday, following a report on Public Petitions, had laughed off the development, saying Fayose would not dignify clowns with his presence at the inquiry.
