Imo State University Alumni Association has called on Nigeria’s Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris to urgently fish out the killers of the Divisional Police Officer of Rumuolumeni in Rivers State, Supol Kingsley Chukwueggu.
He described the brutal murder of the slain cop as a national embarrassment that has thrown the Alumni Association into mourning, urging Police authorities to act fast in rounding up all those involved in the dastardly act.
It would be recalled the Imo State University Alumni Association just ended its one week of mourning over the death of the Police officer.
“Appendix was a perfect gentleman. He was a disciplined Police Officer whose professional conducts were infectious. It is sad that a lot of the good people in our society do lot last long. His death came to us as a shock. We call on Police authorities to immediately fish out his killers and bring them to justice. Steps must also be taken to ensure that the welfare of his family is taken care of. It is very sad that more than one week after the award winning DPO was killed, his killers are still walking free and the crime is not receiving the attention it deserves. It is regrettable that the IG is yet to address Nigerians on the issue. He is also yet to commiserate with the deceased family. This is unacceptable”, he lamented.
The late Kingsley Chukwueggu was an active member of the Imo State University Alumni Association in Rivers State.
