Rivers State commissioner for information and communication s Barr Emma Okah has lauded the Rivers State House of Assembly for ensuring accountability in governance
The commissioner gave this when he appeared before the house joint committee on public accounts and finance today
He said the only way democracy can wear a beautiful look is when the legislature hold the executive accountable
Okah who said the hallmark of every administration to account for both income and expenditure process commended the state legislature for exercising it’s oversight of bringing the executive to account for their stewardship
“it is a very good effort on the part of the legislative arm of government to bring the executive arm of government to account for their stewardship”

“the people have the right to know and at a time like this especially when elections are around the corner, and for a sitting government, the hallmark of your strength is for you to be able to tell the people how much you have led them and so that is why I commend this effort by the RSHA by carrying out their oversight function and in showing that clearly the powers to bring the executive arm of government to account is truly theirs according to the Nigerian constitution”
3 ministries appeared before the committee today they include ministry of special duties, ministry of information, Rivers state Muslim Pilgrims and ministry of social welfare.
