The Federal University of Technology, Owerri has distanced itself from an online vacancy announcement credited to the Institution.

A Statement signed by the Registrar of the University, John Nnabuihe and made available to The Agenda Online, says the Institution has not “placed any academic staff vacancy within the last one year.”

The statement reads in part:

“The attention of the Management of the Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO) has been drawn to a purported Academic Staff Vacancy Advertisement circulating online.”

“We wish to state categorically that we have not placed any academic staff vacancy advert within the last one year.”

“What we have observed being circulated online is a recycled notice, which the University placed in National Dailies and our website in January 2019, on which we had since concluded action.”

“We, therefore, advise members of the public to disregard the purported advertisement.”
