The Imo People’s Action for Democracy (IPAD) has stated that their attention had been drawn to recent developments where Imo properties were hurriedly stolen in the guise of auctioning and other forms of illegal purchase.
This allegation was contained in a press statement jointly by Aku Obidinma and Chibundu Uchegbu, Co-ordinator and Secretary of IPAD in Owerri, the Imo State capital.
According to the press statement, IPAD wished to alert Imolites and also condemn the criminal act.
“We call on the public not to patronize Governor Okorocha and his cohorts in their last minute efforts to sell off the little that is remaining of Imo state after their over seven years pillage of our common wealth.
“It beats our imagination on why a government that stole so much from Imo in the last seven years is not yet satisfied with the so much it has stolen and still resort to this last minute massive looting within few days to her exit.
“The so called buyers and contractors who have allowed themselves to be used as fronts to loot Imo must realize that they must be made to account for such as Imolites will definitely ensure that the incoming popular administration is pressured to probe these illegal sells.
“We are therefore calling on Imo people to be more vigilant and closely watch the activities of this rejected outgoing administration and to note where they are keeping their loot as we hope that the incoming government will heed the people’s demand of probing them.
