Obaseki Re-Elected as Edo State Governor

Governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki has been re-elected as Governor of the State for a second term of four years.

Governor Obaseki of the Peoples Democratic Party-PDP scored a total of Three Hundred and Seven thousand, Nine Hundred and fifty five (307,955) votes, while his closest rival and candidate of the All Progressives Congress-APC, Osagie Ize-Iyamu scored a total of Three Hundred and Seven thousand, Nine Hundred and fifty five (307,955) votes,

Announcing the results of the September 19, 2020 Governorship election in Benin city, Sunday afternoon, Returning Officer of the Independent National Electoral Commission-INEC in Edo State, Johnson Alalibo, declared the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Godwin Obaseki, duly elected, having won majority of the total votes cast, as well as the required spread.
