Senate Wants FG To Intensify Search For Missing Army General

The senate has called on the Federal Government to intensify its search for Retired Major General I. M Alkali, the immediate past Chief of Administration, Army Headquarters, who went missing on his way to Bauchi after leaving Abuja on the 3rd of September.

Search by the Nigerian Army subsequently discovered the General’s car in a mining pond in Dura Du, Jos, Plateau State.

Consequently, the senate on Wednesday following a motion by Senator Mohammed Hassan urged the Federal Government to set up an investigate panel of enquiry to examine and determine the remote and immediate circumstances surrounding the dumping of cars in the ponds in the DU District.

Senate President, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki while reading the resolution of the senate on the matter said the government should ensure it identifies and interrogate possible suspects in the dastardly act and ensure that the perpetrators face the full wrath of the law to serve as deterrence to other criminally minded persons in the strongest possible terms.
