Sparkling FM Radio Comes Alive in Calabar

Another radio station, Sparkling FM 92.3 has formally been launched in the Cross-River State capital, Calabar.

Governor Ben Ayade who formally commissioned the bubbling radio station, saying his government drive for investors was yielding fruits.

Sparkling FM is the third privately owned radio station situated in the state capital. Others are the state owned Cross River Broadcasting Corporation and the Federal Radio Canaan FM.

Ayade who was represented by his commissioner for information and orientation, Mrs Rosemary Archibong said his government has invested much to attract local and international investors as a way of bolstering the state economy, and by extension, create more employments.

Commending the vision of the owners, Ayade said they would partner with them to enable the government give more verve to the government policies, projects and wellbeing of the people.
“We will want this station to help drive our industrialisation process”, he stressed.

Speaker of the state House of Assembly, John Gaul Lebo who was represented by thr chairman House committee on Information, Matthew Olory said they will cooperate and identify with the station.

Managing director of the newest radio station in the state, managing director, Mr Enimini Innocent Idiongete said it was a long-held dream which is to provide a balanced platform to unite Nigerians irrespective of their views, religion or political inclination.

“We will never use our radio to assassinate people’s character, misrepresent or create an atmosphere of discord in the state and country. Instead we shall accommodate divergent points and unite religions.  We want to project the state and country’s cultures and greatness”, he said.

One of the key dignitaries that graced the formal commissioning of the radio station was the younger brother of President Omar Bongo of Gabon, Mr. Lanry Bongo and his wife as well as array of private investors.
