Enugu state governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi have reinstated 207 executive assistants in Enugu north senatorial district sacked last week over non performance and negligence of duty
The governor threaded with pity and announced the reinstatement of the 207 executive assistants with stern warning to all the EAs in the state to live up to expectations in their various duty post to avoid attracting the wrath government.
Ugwuanyi announced the reinstatement of the 207 EAs in meeting he held with all the executive assistants on Sunday at the state government house in Enugu .
The governor charged the EAs to go to their various electoral wards and revalidate the ongoing voters registration exercise at the Independent national electoral commission ( INEC) , adding that government would not hesitate to release it’s sledge hammer on anyone that reneges’ on his civic responsibility
He charged the EAs to be supporting party activities as most of them do not attend ward meetings while a good number of them are not residing at the wards talk less of hosting meetings at the ward levels.
Ugwuanyi warned the reinstated EAs to move to their various electoral wards , interact with the people,mobilise and educate them on the important of voters registration exercise, adding that the EAs are the anchor point of the state government to the grassroots and as such should reside with the people to know how they feel about governance and development in the state.
Hon. Frank Ezema who spoke with vanguard on behalf of others shortly after being reinstated thanked the state governor for tempering justice with mercy by reinstating the 207 executive assistants in Enugu north senatorial district, assured that all the recalled EAs in the zone will adhere strictly to the charge of the the state governor.
Ezema said that all the EAs held a brief meeting shortly after meeting with the governor and resolved in concrete terms to relocate to their various electoral wards to mobilise and ensure that all adults from 18 years and above registers at INEC to obtain permanent voters card (PVC) for the 2019 general elections in the country.
” We must pay back our principal come 2019 general elections by returning him to power in appreciation of the wonder works he is doing in the three senatorial zones of the state on prompt payment of salaries, infrastructural developments, healthcare systems, agriculture, education and N10m empowerment to every community in the state.” he said.
He noted that the EAs would never allow wasteful moments to tear up but must be committed to party activities, host meetings and sponsor political jingles to herald the second coming of governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi in the state.
He promised that the 2019 general elections would remain the primary target of the EAs to do the needful by returning the dynamic governor of the state to power for the second term to enable him finish up the good work he has started on exemplary excellent governance. Ezema while applauding the governor on behalf of others assured that the EAs would never be found wanting in party activities to uphold the tenets of social justice in the state and beyond.
